Dr. Bill Donohue

CBN.com THE CATHOLIC LEAGUE
In 1973 the Catholic League was founded by the late Father Virgil C. Blum. The purpose was to defend all Catholics and their religious freedom and right to free speech whenever threatened. The league ensured then and today, that the position of the Catholic Church is presented in a fair and honest light. They also take the stance that no matter the days and times, the church must teach "the hard truths of the Gospel." The bashing of Christianity has become a staple of today's society and the Catholic League is not afraid to speak loudly and with force when called to "fight the good fight." Standing at the helm of the nation's largest Catholic civil rights organization is a man by the name of Dr. Bill Donohue.
DR. BILL DONOHUE
To say Bill Donohue exudes passion and enthusiasm for what he believes would be a gross injustice. As he shares what is on his heart there comes a rise and strength in his voice that sounds an alarm you want to pay attention to. This is a man who clearly knows what he believes, and does not shrink back in the face of adversity or opposition. There are good people with great ideas and instincts but according to Bill, they lack the courage and fortitude to express it. That is where he steps in, and with bravery and determination encourages and inspires others.
TARGETED BY ACTIVIST ATHEISTS
Bill was sure to explain that not all Atheists deliver a hate-filled message. He clarified that he has no issue with the average person who has no desire for religion or the fact they share their opinion with others, it is the basic right of the freedom of religion. He does however, part ways with the messages filled with disdain and hate focused directly on the Christian faith that comes from the organized Atheist activist. He further explained as the country becomes increasingly secular, the atheist group has capitalized on the idea that Christianity is that of fanaticism. Their target is not the Muslim faith because they fear them, and they don't target Judaism because they respect them. Not so Christianity. Again and again Bill drove home the point that the agenda of the Atheist activist is to point to Christianity as an intolerant and hate-filled religion.
Truth be told, the life of Jesus as shown in the Scriptures is absolutely the opposite as Jesus continually preached and modeled love. Bill shared that there is not another faith on the earth that they attack in the ways they do Christianity. How is it that Atheists find Christianity a threat while time has proved that when a nation embraces atheism, the result always ends with bloodshed as did with Stalin, Mao and Hitler? All were driven by a militant form of atheism. The hatred for religion allowed them to give in to their impulse to kill those in opposition of their agenda with no moral compass. Bill sees where this nation could take this direction, and the way to stop this is to speak out on a continual basis, keep people informed, and not shrink back when opposition raises its voice.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Presently, there is a war against religious liberty and as we approach the election the American Atheist group is letting their position be known by way of billboards in Charlotte, North Carolina. They target Christianity and Mormonism, clearly attacking the Republican candidates. One billboard will says, "Sadistic God; Useless Savior, 30,000+ Version of 'Truth.' Promotes Hate" which is directed toward Christianity while attacking Mormonism with "God is a space alien. Baptizes dead people. Big Money, Big Bigotry."
There is no doubt, said Bill, that the liberal agenda and Atheist's activists are inseparable. To prove his point he shared that after the 2008 election he predicted the effects of Obama in office would go beyond the beltway and cross into our culture. Within two years of being in office, the current president did what no other president has ever done, he invited the Atheist activist group Secular Coalition for America to discuss the problems they believe are caused by religion. Bill further remarked that mayors of major cities have no business telling Christian companies they are not welcome because of their belief in marriage. He said,"..and chief executives have the audacity to muscle out jobs" for people who really need them. The interview concluded on these words directed to those trying to railroad our religious freedoms, "Move over buddy, I'm taking command of the bus!"
