CBN.com CHRIS MITCHELL INSIDE THE MIDDLE EAST

Chris Mitchell discusses the political and biblical workings of Jerusalem, and the impact it has on the world. His writing tackles the dangers of nuclear war, and world domination threatening the US and world's freedom. Chris gives straightforward truths on current events and how Christians should live and respond to a dangerous movement. He encourages readers to not ignore Biblical prophecy, but how we must look at it so we can navigate our lives in safety.

Being based in Jerusalem, Chris has traveled throughout the Middle East "from a bloodstained murder site in a quiet Israeli neighborhood to a dusty Iraqi village where ISIS is lurking in the shadows; from a desecrated Coptic sanctuary to a secret house church where newly-baptized Iranian coverts radiantly celebrate their new lives; from a sprawling refugee camp in Kurdistan to a stunning archeological dig in Galilee."

Feeling like we have gone back in time, Chris shares the horrific persecution occurring in the Middle East to present day Christians. Sounding like a futuristic novel, he describes the sudden rise and real threat of ISIS, Iran's development of "their deadly nuclear cocktail," and the constant threat of bombs sent into Israel by Hamas. Chris' book takes us right into the places he traveled, the "face to face" talks he had with those directly affected, and shows that ethnic cleansing is not in the future, it is here now.

Chapter one opens with their location being 15 minutes from ISIS, and the journey to keep fear at bay, have common sense, and pray-knowing the threat of being overtaken was real. Following chapters share the lives of common people whose former lives have disappeared, and currently they are hanging in the balance. One older woman described their churches were bombed, homes ripped from them, and explaining "We don't have anything here. NO money. NO ID. No travel documents." All taken by ISIS who are driven to brutally destroy lives. One particular unbelievable moment came involving four children who were under the age of 15. They refused to deny Jesus so ISIS "chopped off all their heads." All the people can do is cry.

Citing radical Islam, Ebola outbreak, a very unstable economy, and talk of a World War, Chris then presents the questions of how to prepare ourselves and others- "then what shall we do?"

Be part of the story by doing these things:

1. Watch and pray.
2. Develop intimacy with the Lord.
3. Hide the Word in your heart.
4. Look up.
5. Join with believers.
6. Draw close to family and develop a small, trusted group with whom you can pray.
7. Give and prepare for others.
8. Invest in Eternity.
9. Holiness and humor.
10. Develop a Kingdom perspective.

Do your best for the Lord while drawing comfort that "the Lord has saved the best for last."
